When asked about why she loves Living Waters she said, “I love the people here. We are a family, and we all take care of each other.  As a mission, LW must reach out to others and lead them to a relationship with Jesus.  I hope that by being on Council, I can help create opportunities to do this.”

Steve Yahr

I was born and raised in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, a lifelong Packer fan living in Minnesota!  After college graduation I moved to the twin cities and worked for Sperry Univac / Unisys / Lockheed Martin for 32 years.  I married Susan who passed away in 2009, we had three girls, Katie, Kjirsten & Lisa.  We lived in Oakdale attending St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in North St. Paul, part of Pastor Ivy’s congregation.  Church was an important part of our lives.  After Susan’s passing, I was the Director of the first K-12 Fab Lab in Wisconsin and moved to Three Lakes, WI for 5 years helping students learn in a new way.

In October 2016 I met Carol, a lifelong St.Paulite, at a grief support group, she had lost her husband to cancer.  We grew in our relationship and love, and were married in June 2018.  I retired in June 2019 and we moved back to Oakdale to be close to family.  We looked for 2.5 years for a house of our own, and in 2020 found our home here in Lino Lakes, finding that the nearest Lutheran Church was Living Waters where Pastor Ivy had moved shortly before we did.  We enjoy being outside, either hiking or paddling the lakes in our canoe Sourdough.
